Situation update: Bali and Indonesia visa

covid 19 Visa Bali and Indonesia

Border restrictions

Change regarding visas for Bali and Indonesia. The Indonesian government announces new border restriction measures effective July 21 until further notice. In order to curb a situation that has become worrying, the government only authorizes entry into the territory for a series of people:

  • Indonesian citizens
  • KITAS or KITAP (residence permit) holders
  • holder of diplomatic or official visas
  • Crew
  • any person whose purpose of the visit is humanitarian or medical and who has received authorization from the crisis management teams
Even if you have a valid visa, you will be denied to entry

In other words, people with business visas cannot travel to Indonesian territory. Immigration allows access to the territory until Friday 23 July 23:59 for visa holders not part of the previous list.

Holders of issued and unconverted visas will not be accepted in the territory (retirement visa or family visa included).

Due to the current crisis, it is conceivable that this situation will continue for a few weeks or months. The last restrictions of this type had lasted for a few months from the end of December to March. It is recommended that you do not book flights or establish a visa process for Bali with an agent.

It is important to remember that Indonesia is facing a surge in coronavirus cases with more than 50,000 cases daily and many people lack the capacity to get tested or prefer to stay at home. Like you, we wish a stabilization and reduction of cases as soon as possible.

The Bali Bazaar team will keep you informed of the new rules as they change.
